Q:  Why should I use SelfFDI for my fire door inspections?

A:  Self Fire Door Inspection is a comprehensive program developed to allow you or your staff to inspect your own fire doors.  We provide you information and knowledge necessary to ensure you are in compliance.  The alternative is having someone come out to your location and inspect the doors for you.  This can be very costly and will require you to pay recurring annual fees each time you have your doors inspected.  With the Self Fire Door Inspection program you retain this information and can save money by inspecting the doors yourself using the materials provided.

Q:  What if I find compliance issues?

A:  With some basic skills you can repair or replace damaged, missing, or broken parts, we tell you how.  You will also be given options for free inspection and sources to get suggestions from qualified experts in the industry.  The guide will point out issues with doors and hardware that may even result in free replacement.

Q:  Do I need to have my fire doors inspected?

A:  Yes.  The inspection standard was adopted in NFPA 80, 2007 and again in the 2010 version.
